Indigenous communities possess rich knowledge systems, forged through centuries of harmonious coexistence with the natural environment. This is ever so true for our Asia-Pacific region with the Makassan Trade Treaty being a beautiful demonstration of the sheer efficiency and sustainability that prospered between what we now know as Australia and Indonesia.
Expanding perspectives internationally is crucial for building capabilities and empowerment within our indigenous communities and beyond. By acknowledging the unique wisdom and experiences of indigenous peoples, societies can gain a deeper understanding of alternative worldviews, enhancing their capacity to address complex societal challenges.
Our programs, such as IGP, September Seram Summit and Giveback Getaways, encourage mutual learning, creative curious practice, holistic exchange, and the identification of common challenges and aspirations that contribute to critical solutions on universal issues in an international context that is safe and anchored in historical roots of relevance.
The integration of indigenous perspectives with indigenous-led international initiatives makes for powerful frameworks that support sustainable development and empowerment that collectively build the capabilities required to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
